The purpose of the Spanish Club shall be to teach PHS students as well as the “new generation” of students about the amazing culture and language of the Spanish people, accomplished through community service and educational trips. Past projects include the “Dia de Los Muertos Celebration”, ”Las Posadas” at Rancho Vista Elementary, the “Christmas Toy Drive” and the “Cinco de Mayo Celebration” at Sacred Heart Elementary. Students involved in the Spanish Club are people who are interested in and respectful of the Spanish Culture.
The Spanish club will recognize the life of Cesar Chavez on Mar. 29th. After a short video biography, club members will get the barbeques going. To celebrate, students prepare lunch, complete with carne asade, rice , beans, and salsa for the student body and faculty. Great job, Spanish club!
Membership: The students currently involved in the Spanish Club are interested in and respectful of the Spanish culture. To join the Spanish Club, all one must do is sign up with Mrs. Castellanos and pay a small fee.
Events: So far this year, the Spanish Club has held a Christmas toy drive, and collected money in baby bottles for the Respect Life program. Our future plans include a Cinco de Mayo fiesta and a celebration for Caesar Chavez Day. We are also going to teach children how to make tortillas at Rancho Vista Elementary School
