Joe Kahler received his undergraduate degree from Whittier College in Social Sciences and his Masters in Education from Arizona State University. His experiences in teaching, coaching and raising his three daughters with his wife, has inspired him to help young adults successfully transition from home to “Out On My Own”! He currently teaches, and speaks to young adults about designing their life, instead of waiting to let life happen. With humor and poignancy, this book instructs and encourages young adults in such areas as: • Finance - FICO Scores, budgeting, moneymaking methods • Car - Buying it, maintaining it, insuring it, the action to take after an accident • Social skills - Who to tip and how much; what to wear; how to lead, network and win • Home - How to rent, buy, clean and protect your house and everything in it, while raking in some “positive cash flow.” |

Article from Saint Mary's College website; Oct. 2, 2006
San Bruno, CA-Saint Mary's freshman midfielder Dylan Leslie (Lancaster, CA) was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for his efforts against No. 10-ranked San Diego and Loyola Marymount. The accolade is a career first for the freshman and marks the second consecutive week that a Gael has nabbed the honor. Senior Alex Christlieb earned the accolade last week. Leslie played beyond his years when he led SMC to a 4-2 victory over then ranked No. 10 San Diego. The newcomer tallied a hat trick against a USD team that had only allowed three goals all season. The win over the Toreros mark the second time in as many games that the Gaels have downed a ranked opponent. The previous game, SMC beat then No. 11-ranked USF 1-0. Leslie converted a penalty kick in the 18th minute and then added a goal in the 30th minute on a one-timer from senior Matthew Fitzgerald. In the second half, Leslie was not done, as he capped off the hat trick in 60th minute on a header off a Carlos Diaz corner kick. After the three-game homestand to open West Coast Conference play, the Gaels remain atop the standings with a 2-0-1 record. It is the first time since 1999 that the Gaels have opened conference action undefeated in their first three games. Watch for updates at http://smcgaels.cstv.com/sports/m-soccer |
