Please pray for Greg Prieto, Class of 2001, as he battles cancer and works to regain good health. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2

Please pray for the soul and family of Kathie Barnes Hall from the Class of 1969. Her siblings include Ken from the Class of 1968, Debbie from the Class of 1971, and Teresa (Teri) from the Class of 1972. May God provide comfort to her friends and family. “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Luke 10:20

Please pray for the soul and family of Lymar Benjamin Cole from the Class of 2002. He passed away on December 9, 2023, leaving behind a loving family. His career success gave him the title “Mr. Consistent.” Rest in peace, Lymar!         “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13         

With our deepest condolences, we share that Kitty Lynch has passed away. The Paraclete grads in her family include Andy ’81, Adam ’01, Heath ’06, Heather ’08, Beau ’08, Tyler ’09, Jessica ’10, and Morgan ’13. We say good-bye to Rick Silong from the Class of 1983 who passed away on February 19, 2022, from an aortic dissection. Please keep his soul, family, and friends in your prayers. Rick’s ashes will be interred on May 18, 2022 at 11 AM at Miramar National Cemetery with full military honors. “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Please keep the soul of Cathy Daoust Lueck, her family, and her friends in your prayers. Cathy was a member of the Class of 1981, her children Emily (’10), Molly (’12), and Jon (’14) are Spirit grads as well, and her nephew Wyatt is a student at Paraclete. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1

Please keep the soul of Cole Kaz ’09, his family, and friends in your prayers. Cole passed away on December 27, 2020. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:18  

Please keep the soul of Steve Wilson ’68, his family, and friends in your prayers. Steve passed away on January 31, 2021. Steve was the Senior Class President and participated in several sports.  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Please keep the Richter Family in your prayers. Mrs. Antonieta Richter, retired Paraclete teacher, passed away on May 29, 2020, and her son Klaus from the class of 1998 passed away on December 2, 2020. We pray for their souls and pray for their family asking for God’s comfort. “For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.” Psalms 18:28

Please keep the soul of Adelina Ordaz, her family, and friends in your prayers.   Adelina passed away on July 27, 2021.  Jorge Ordaz ’91 (her husband) and their children appreciate your prayers during this difficult time. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1

Please keep the soul and family of Mrs. Haydee Nottoli in your prayers.  May God give her husband John and their family of alumni strength and peace. Please keep the soul, family, and friends of Makhi Cooper who recently passed away in your prayers. She attended Paraclete until recently and would have been part of the Class of 2020. Please keep the soul, family, and friends of John Arulanantham in your prayers. John attended only one year at Paraclete (1986-1987 as a classmate of the Class of 1988), yet he always had an affinity for our Paraclete. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2

Please keep in your prayers John R. Vento Sr. as he regains his health. Mr. Vento is the grandfather of Paraclete student Hannah.  “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Please keep Tom Ward, his wife Janet, and the rest of his family in your prayers. Tom passed away last week and your prayers are much appreciated. Tom’s children are Paraclete alumni: Tim ’89 (preceded his father in death), Virginia ’92, Andrew ’93, and Molly ’95. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Please keep in your thoughts and prayers our beloved friend Janet Galla from Bishop Alemany High School. She is recovering from an illness and is in need of prayer. “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 John 1:2

Please keep Bishop Edward Clark, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles, in your prayers as he recovers from surgery. Bishop Clark was the principal of Paraclete from 1980 through 1982. “A cheerful heart is good medicine.” Proverbs 17:22

Please keep the soul and family of Angelica Nevaeh, cousin of Amir Bankhead, in your prayers. She passed away after undergoing heart surgery. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Please keep teacher Ms. Nora King in your prayers as she receives treatment for cancer. She loves teaching, her students, and Paraclete High School, so she looks forward to returning soon. “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Please keep the soul and family of Mary Truehill in your prayers. Mary attended Paraclete with the class of 1984 in her freshman & sophomore years. Mary battled cancer but passed away on December 4, 2018. In company with Christ, who died and now lives, may she rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Jo was a long-time supporter of Paraclete, and her love and devotion to God, family, and friends will be missed.  “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Please pray for the soul and family of Anthony Temoche from the class of 2010. Anthony passed away on February 27, 2019. Please pray for Heidi McDonald Stetler (class of ’77) as she recovers from an illness. We mourn the passing of Mike Nelson, father of alumni Ilsa (Nelson) Toepfer, Carolyn (Nelson) Hostetler, Erika (Nelson) Warne, Laurel (Nelson) Weingand; and grandfather of alumni Paige and Grant Vogenthaler, and current student Ian Vogenthaler. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Your prayers are needed now…student Zach Durrett’s out of state cousin, Justin Williams (14 years old), was badly burned from a bonfire last night. Zach is very close to him, and anxiously awaits updates on Justin’s condition.  Justin had to be airlifted from Boise to Salt Lake City to a burn unit in very serious condition.  The family is asking for prayers. “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 1:2

Please keep the Just family in your prayers as they strive to overcome health issues. “The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed; in his illness, You restore him to health.” Psalm 41:3

Please pray for Tanner Lott. He is our student who broke his neck yesterday on a trampoline. Thank GOD he is moving all of his limbs! However, he will be having a major surgery tomorrow (Friday). They will be putting in 2 bolts in his neck to hold it in place while it heals. He will be in the hospital (he is at Childrens Hospital in LA) for about a week. Then he will be healing at home for another few weeks. 

Please pray for the soul and family of Cathryn Gorospe who passed away in October 2017. Lighten our darkness O Lord we pray, and comfort our sorrowing hearts. Pour Your peace that passes all understanding into the hearts of all that are grieving and shower the assurance of Your love on all – at this time of sadness. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Please pray for the soul and family of Linda Jackson Holcomb from the class of 1977. She leaves her devoted husband, Don, and four children and three grandchildren. “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.” Romans 8:16-17

Please pray for the soul and family of Chris Resa (class of ’78). Chris passed away in August 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. He leaves his wife, Carol (Manke ’79), loving children and grandchildren, his sister Cathy (’79), and brothers Dave (’76), Steve (’80), and Brian (’84). “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:6

Please pray for the soul and family of Jeff Potter, brother of staff member Nancy Sitz. He lost his battle with cancer in June 2017. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 “So we are always of good courage.  We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.  Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

Please pray for Rosemary Hull who is very ill and hospitalized. Rosemary’s children and grandchildren graduated from Paraclete. Jeremiah 17:14

Please pray for the soul and family of Monsignor Douglas Saunders, former principal of Paraclete. He passed away on March 17, 2017. “His Lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Please pray for the soul and family of Bill Biers…wife Kristina and son Billy. Mr. Biers coached Little League Baseball to many local youth, including Paraclete students, and son Billy attended Paraclete. Psalm 18:28 “You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.”

Please pray for the soul and family of Felicitas Quijano, mother of teacher Mrs. Virginia Mego and Grandmother of Paraclete students William ’18, Allison ’13 and Weiland ’11.

Please give comfort and strength, Lord God, to those she left behind. May they be comforted in the knowledge that their beloved mother and grandmother is now in Your embrace. AMEN

Please pray for Allan Copeland who recently passed away. He and his wife Valerie have 4 sons that graduated from Paraclete: Alexander (07), Travis (08), Austin (12) and Ryan (15). We pray for healing for the family at this difficult time. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Wednesday, December 21, at Sacred Heart Church.
