To learn more about CyberPatriot AND Cyber Security
With Guest Speaker Dr. Dan Manson, CISSP, Professor and Department Chair for Computer Information Systems at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
The Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot is Paraclete’s newest after school enrichment program. It’s a team-oriented cyber competition created to inspire students toward careers in cyber security or other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
Paraclete High School offered a summer Cyber Camp in 2015, and launched its inaugural CyberPatriot team during the 2015/16 school year. After successfully advancing through local and district competitions, the team is enthusiastically looking forward to taking it to the next level, starting with the 2016 summer Cyber Camp and the 2016/17 competition season! The school Technology Director, CyberPatriot Coach and team members will be available to answer questions.
Our featured speaker will be Dr. Dan Manson. Dr. Manson is a Professor and Department Chair in Computer Information Systems at California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He will speak to preparing our high school students for success in college STEM curriculum and in careers that address workforce needs in the local area and beyond. Dr. Manson will discuss the growing world of computer security competitions and how this kind of enrichment in your child’s education can result in scholarships, internships and future career opportunities. Also of special interest to you, he will speak to the state of the world in regards to Cyber Security!
Everyone – students, parents, educators, staff and sponsors- are ALL invited and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Stevens, Technology Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 661-943-3925.
