Welcome from the Athletic Director
Welcome to Spirit Athletics! The purpose of Paraclete Athletics is to provide our students with an opportunity to compete and be successful while instilling the concept of teamwork and work ethic that improves an individual’s emotional well-being and prowess. Paraclete Athletics is committed to providing a positive, challenging, competitive, and fair athletic experience that emphasizes the Spirit principles coupled with personal integrity, sportsmanship, wellness, and fulfillment of the student athlete’s potential. We strive to make athletic participation an environment that sparks a lifelong appreciation for competition, exercise, discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and the pursuit of victory with honor. The primary goal of the athletic program is to build physical strength, self-discipline, and team spirit in an atmosphere permeated with idealism, energy, and the values proclaimed to us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Above all, this must be evident throughout every aspect of the athletic program, and most especially, in the conduct of student athletes, parents, coaches and staff. Paraclete participates in the CIF Southern Section.
Blessings,
Rick Bruce

Athletic Clearances
PHS ATHLETIC CLEARANCE INFO_2025
Clearance starts with enrollment – no athlete may participate in any manner unless they are fully enrolled at Paraclete.
An Athletic Clearance for your student-athlete is required to play sports at Paraclete. This step requires Paperwork to Play for & a Home Campus application for the 2025-26 school year. **This clearance must be completed before an athlete may tryout, workout, and/or compete in any sport.
Finally, all student-athletes must maintain their academic eligibility.
Paperwork to Play packets are available in the Front Office and contain:
- CIF Physical Form (a doctor/clinic may use their own form eg. Kaiser)
- Blue Card (or Yellow Card for transfers only)
Home Campus
To create a Home Campus account: Home Campus CA Athletic Account Instructions
Home Campus is the informational clearinghouse for the CIF – athletes and coaches are cleared here, official schedules are maintained, rosters, & scores are entered, etc.
A Home Campus application must be submitted for every school year. It requires uploads of the Proof of Physical clearance page & the front and back of the Blue Card (or Yellow Card – for transfers only) in order to be processed, so be sure to take pictures of those three items; then, the Blue Card (or Yellow Card – for transfers only) must be turned in to the Front Office.
Students will use their one Home Campus account to create a new application for each new school year. Each application is good for all sports selected that school year; you may add more sports to an application in the same school year by logging in and adding the desired sport(s). DO NOT create new accounts or multiple applications for a single school year; doing so may lead to confusion and/or slower clearance.
You will get a confirmation email stating you have completed the online process. Your student-athlete’s application for sports at Paraclete has been submitted. This DOES NOT mean that your student is cleared to participate yet! Another email will be sent to you once your student is fully cleared.
Athletic clearance may be delayed until Proof of Physical and Blue/Yellow Card verifications are done, enrollment & academic eligibility are checked, and any transfer documentation is approved by CIF.

Athletic Directors
Rick Bruce – Athletic Director
“Jesus says ‘Lower Your Nets’ and that has been my calling for the last 46 years. Serving students as a Catholic School Educator is truly a blessing in my life. I became a teacher/coach right out of college in 1977 and am now heading into my 46 th year as an educator with 39 of those years in Catholic High Schools and this is my 36 th year as an Athletic Director. Along with my vocation as a Catholic educator, my family and tennis are my passions. My wife, children and grandchildren are the joys of my life. I played college tennis in the mid 70’s and have coached tennis throughout my career. I am also blessed to have been able to coach varsity basketball for 15 years as well as varsity volleyball, baseball and softball at different points in my career. I am thrilled to be Athletic Director of Paraclete High School. “Go, Spirit Nation!”
