Dress Code for Special Events

Skirball Cultural Center – Los Angeles 
7:00 pm – 12:00 am

 

GIRLS’ DRESS:

  1. No shorts and no jeans of any kind

  2. All dresses must be T-length (mid-calf) or longer

  3. If the dress has a slit, the top of the slit may not be any higher than two inches above the knee 

  4. Back must be no lower than the waist 

  5. Front cannot be cut lower than the middle of the chest

  6. Two piece dresses are allowed but there must be NO BARE MIDRIFF shown at any time. (Raise your hands over your head and check to see that no midriff is showing.)

  7. No part of the dress may have see-through material or be cut-out.  

  8. No dog collars, spikes or other inappropriate jewelry. No visible tattoos or other jewelry associated with body piercing 

  9. Hair must follow the appropriate Paraclete guidelines

  10. Shoes must be worn at all times


BOYS’ DRESS:

  1. Tuxedos are preferred, but nice dress suits may be worn. NO ZOOT SUITS ARE ALLOWED.

  2. NO CANES; NO HATS!

  3. No shorts and no jeans of any kind

  4. Boys are reminded that they cannot wear visible tattoos or jewelry associated with body piercing with the exception of earrings

  5. Boys must be clean shaved and have an appropriate hairstyle per Paraclete guidelines

  6. Shoes must be worn at all times. 


REMEMBER THAT SCHOOL REGULATIONS STIPULATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION FOR ANY STUDENT WHO HAS A TATTOO. BOTH ARE UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE DANCE. 

This Dress Code applies to all students and their guests. Any student or guest who dresses inappropriately or is found carrying alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or other paraphernalia will not be allowed to remain and their parents will be called to pick them up. Appropriate disciplinary action will follow. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS FOR ANY STUDENTS, INCLUDING THOSE WHO ARE ASKED TO LEAVE THE DANCE FOR ANY DISCIPLINARY REASONS. 

 

Dress Guidelines for Athletic & Extracurricular Events

The following items are not permitted to be worn at athletic & extracurricular activities:

  • Ripped jeans of any type
  • Dress or skirts
  • Torn, see through or low cut blouses
  • Any apparel that exposes the stomach area
  • Tank tops or sleeveless shirts
  • Baggy, torn or holey clothing
  • Short shorts
  • T-shirts, shirts, or sweatshirts that advertise alcohol, tobacco, drugs or other improper items or convey inappropriate messages are not permitted

Any student found to be in violation of dress code when they arrive at the event will be sent home to change.
